Urban Adolesecent Prevention Program
The Urban Adolescent Prevention Program (UAPP) provides academic, cultural and prevention services to the Escondido and San Diego Urban Tribal TANF participants under 18 years of age. The purpose of the UAPP is to meet TANF purposes 3 and 4, which is to prevent and reduce out-of-wedlock pregnancies and to encourage the formation of two parent families. The UAPP also provides all Native Youth Success Program (NYSP) services to the Urban Tribal TANF participants.
Academic tutoring is provided, Monday-Thursday, at the Escondido and San Diego UAPP sites. The participants are also involved in Native youth conferences and activities such as: the Dream the Impossible Conference, UNITY, Juvenile Hall Open House Tour, and LIVE Virtual Experiences via the internet.
